"Life is good right now, but I'm waiting for something to happen, in the near future, around September-I feel it will be amazing. This is where I am right now. But I wonder: am I missing something by waiting for September to come?"
This question is profound as it touches on a universal predicament that follows us through life:
What is the relationship between Waiting and Flow?
We begin with the two central cards:
8 of Pentacles

The 8 of Pentacles Mastery in Motion - A symbol of passionate work and inner growth. Flow is a state of living at the mystery's edge-the fertile boundary between what is known and what is becoming. You reap what you sow, and in this image, sowing is constant: every gesture, every breath, is port of your becoming. The figure faces the tree the axis mundi, the center of Being-and pours his focus into the one thing he can control: how he shows up, here and now. Truth and dedication are his daily tasks, and her work reaps gold. There is no waiting here, only the present moment, supported by honest effort and reverence for the craft of fully embodied living. The closer we get to the present moment, the more Flow and its incredible gifts can pour through and around us. Though the future may be great, abundance can only be accessed here and now. "Waiting" con cut us off from the vital spring of life.
4 of Cups

The 4 of Cups - Discontent - Below, in stark contrast, the figure of the 4 of Cups sits with arms folded, her back to the tree of life. The center is neglected. A cloud- symbolizing Reality, the Universe, Existence itself-offers him a gift. A fourth cup. But she turns away. She cannot appreciate what he has right now so he cannot opprecicte the blessed offering. She is frozen in the feeling that this is not enough. This is the essence of waiting-a rejection of the present. It's an emotional divestment from now in favor of a fantasy projected onto the future. And what happens when we linger here too long? The energy of waiting becomes habitual. The future remains perpetually out of reach. Always arriving, never attained. In the language of manifestation: if your current state is "waiting," then waiting is what you align with, and more waiting is what you will get. The future mirrors the energy of your now.
Return to the 8 of Pentacles.
She does not wait. Even if she anticipates a celebration ahead-a harvest, a promotion, a breakthrough-she knows better than to fantasize about it. She does not fear the future nor wish for it. She devotion is to the moment, to the cultivation of his whole being, as symbolized by the tree. To wait is to fracture your energy-part of you is in the present, another part of you somewhere else. In that split, you miss the gift that total presence offers, and possibly, you may miss the very future you were so earnestly waiting for. Flow, then, is a full-body alignment with the present, whether you are spending time with family, taking a stroll through Manhattan, or working on your craft. It is from this alignment that manifestation occurs. The paradox is: to attain the future of our dreams, we must lose concerns for it.
The Flanking Cards:
the 5 of Swords
-victory, but hollow. It asks us: At what cost? You may get what you desire. But in your striving, what possibilities did you overlook? Perhaps a better future. What parts of yourself did you alienate? Have you become two dimensional in your single-minded pursuit? Flow thrives not on insistence of an expectation, but on openness and the willingness to dance with the unexpected. Who knows what surprising paths will emerge when we let go of insistence that the future must be a certain way.
the 9 of Swords
. The figure sits in torment, plagued by thoughts of past mistakes and future fears. Worries that the fantasy of who they should be is not aligned with who they are. This is the anguish of misalignment, of the 4 of Cups-the mind cut off from the living moment - Should we find ourselves in such a state, the invitation then is to return to alignment, through grounding, balancing, and finding methods to cultivate presence.

Life is sprinkled with peak moments-graduations, business launches, weddings, births-those celebratory moments we eagerly await. However, most of life occurs not at the summit, but along the winding path toward it. When we fixate on outcomes, we dim the present and lose the gifts inherent to it. The attainment of a goal is lovely, but the lessons learned walking towards it are what expands our being. Flow, when achieved, is pure intimacy with the moment, at the edge of mystery, where being meets becoming. Then, within the space of flow, synchronicities arise, revealing our unique path-clues, nudges, and unexpected invitations offering not just guidance, but magic-more profound than anything we imagined the future could hold. You could live here always. So let this be your gentle anchor: for the upcoming month when you feel out of alignment, too much in the past or future, repeat this mantra:
I am here and now.
Life is here and now.
Magic is here and now.

Wishing you a month of your own magic.
In your own skin.
Love and Light,
